Hey all! I was just dropping by to see if this place might be useful to me.I'm looking to replace my written food journal with something online. The reason I keep track of what I eat is because some days I just sort of don't eat at all and other days I eat but it's all the wrong things. My goal for this year is to try and be more aware of my triggers and patterns ( ie: when I'm stressed out I don't eat, making time at work to eat...)I haven't been taking very good care of myself this year, I'm tired and I'm hoping this might help me focus. Any and all support would be welcome. So far today at noon I've had 2 cups of coffee and 2 slices of toast with butter.

Ok so heres an extreme example of what happens when I work.

Dunkin donuts large lite and sweet on the way to work (6:30a)

Breakfast at 11:30: ( at this point I was starving being up since 5:30 am and not really sitting down), strawberries, a packet of flavored oatmeal and then I grabbed a tuna sandwich from the patients fridge because I honestly thought it would be my only meal of the day

Lunch at 4:30pm was tortellini with chicken, just a small amount and a coke shoveled down in about 10 minutes because I left a busy nurse to watch my dialysis patient

Snack when I got off work @ 8pm: some more strawberries and a small slice of pizza

Then when I got home I was lying in bed watching TV at 12:30 am and I started obsessing about food. So I got up and had leftover bostonmarket: chicken, mashed potatos, creamed spinach, mac n cheese, cinnamon apples, just a small scoop of each, and a corn muffin with butter. MMMM put me right to sleep.

It's unusual that I ate so much. Usually my issue is not eating enough.

The Weakness in Me

I also keep a record of everything that goes into my mouth. Right now I'm trying to improve my eating habits and keeping track keeps me accountable. It also shows me where my empty calories are, what times of day I eat, and tracks my eating patterns in general.

I use this site: Fit Day.

It's a little tricky to get the hang of at first, but I love it. You enter everything you eat in a day and it gives you reports on where your calories are coming from, whether you're meeting your nutritional requirements, changes in weight, your activity patterns, etc. I always recommend it. It also has a journal available.

Posting here always helps too, but this community isn't as active as it could be unfortunately.
